MAKING MONEY ON YOUR HOME

A "For Sale" sign is very helpful, many times neighbors have friends/relatives looking in the area for a home.

The front door greets the prospect. Make sure it is fresh and clean. Keep lawn trimmed and yard free of refuse.

Open the draperies and curtains and let the prospect see how cheerful your home is.

Fix that dripping faucet! Minor repairs can make a big difference; loose knobs, sticking doors and windows, spackle/recaulk bathroom tile, etc. A fresh coat of paint may be helpful, ask your agent for advise.

Avoid clutter, keep stairways clear, clean out your closets.

Keep pets out of the way - out of the house, if possible.

Let your Agent do the talking. Do not discuss price or other conditions of the sale with the prospective buyer. If a Buyer's agent is showing and has questions, direct them to your agent.

Negotiate only thru your agent. Have an attorney lined up for your contract review and closing.

Most towns require a Certificate of Compliance/Occupancy for resale. Check with your agent.
